PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Butch Fargo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Arel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeremy Arel!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Fargo.
Arel shoots in for a double leg but Fargo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Arel misses with the ground and pound.

Fargo has one of Arel's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Fargo uses his free foot to push down on Arel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Arel.

Arel is desperately trying to improve his position but Fargo has a good base and remains in mount.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Fargo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arel as he jumps to the side.
Fargo shoots for a double leg takedown but Arel sprawls well. He's pushed Fargo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fargo closes the distance and clinches.
Arel fails to pull guard.

Fargo is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Arel can't fight it off and eventually Fargo manages to take the fight to the floor. Arel looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fargo in particular looking to stall.
Fargo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Fargo tries to free his leg and advance position but Arel is retaining full guard.

Arel has his foot on Fargo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fargo works his way back into a safe position though.
Arel wants to sweep here but Fargo controlling him for the moment.

Arel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fargo is working away from the top position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Arel slaps away a takedown attempt from Fargo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Butch Fargo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No luck for Fargo with that takedown attempt.
Fargo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Arel's waist but Arel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Fargo off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch Fargo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fargo has hold of Arel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Arel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Butch Fargo.
Well Fargo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
