Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between In Wan Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Drens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathew Drens is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, In Wan Park!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathew Drens!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Park lands but Drens takes it in his stride.
Park shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Drens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Park defends it nicely.
Drens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Park's waist but Park gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drens off to one side.
Park dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drens. That did some damage!
Park with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Park tries to score with a low kick but Drens moves his leg out of the way.
Park really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Drens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Park sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
In Wan Park has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mathew Drens.

Park feints and then cracks Drens's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Drens down.
In Wan Park seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Park misses with a low kick as Drens jumps back.

Park lands with a slapping head kick.
Good leg kick by Park there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Park stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Park wants it to stay on the feet.
Park connects with a leg kick. Drens looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Horrible takedown by Drens or perhaps it was just good defense by Park which made him look bad.
Park dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Drens. That did some damage!
Drens looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Drens on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
In Wan Park is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Park fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Drens has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Drens stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Park.

Park leaves Drens with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Drens checks the leg kick nicely there.
Park lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Park attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Drens has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Park.
Park throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Park is looking to score with low kicks.
Drens is trying desperately to land a takedown but Park is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Drens.
Park cracks the inside of Drens's front leg.
Drens changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Park tries to avoid it but Drens manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Park to the ground. Park escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Park throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Drens's head.
Drens shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Drens is breathing heavily.
Drens stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Park.

Park throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Park tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Drens is able to avoid easily.
Drens shoots in for a takedown but Park shows good takedown defense.
Park throws a leg kick which misses Drens's front leg but catches the back leg as Drens tries to avoid it.
Drens chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Park can pounce on him.
Park connects with a high kick.
Park lands a nice leg kick that just misses Drens's sensitive parts.
Drens avoids the head kick by Park.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A clash of legs there as Drens blocks the low kick.
Park throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Drens tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Park swivels and escapes.

Park throws a sloppy head kick and Drens moves out of range easily.
Park wants to slow Drens down by chopping away at his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

In Wan Park dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Drens checks the leg kick nicely there.
Park tries a head kick but it misses.
Park throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Drens tries for a takedown but Park sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Park throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Drens.
Drens doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Park counters with a good low kick that Drens was not able to check.

Park throws a leg kick but Drens checks it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Park lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Drens has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Drens and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Park throws a front kick aimed at Drens's knee but Drens avoids it well.
Park tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Park does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Drens gets a double leg takedown into Park's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Park keeping moving, preventing Drens from controlling successfully.
Park wants to get back to his feet but Drens is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Mathew Drens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Drens drops back looking for a leg! Park is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Park manages to kick Drens off! Drens jumps back into Park's guard.
Park is looking to stand up but Drens isn't so interested in that idea.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

In Wan Park is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Drens drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Drens seems to have locked his on tight now - Park screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Drens, as he picks up the win!
