Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sandy Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes to the cage accompanied by Black Snake Moan. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hawkins's choice of entrance music: Enter Sandman. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan ducks under a wild hook from Hawkins.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hawkins crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Morgan - the referee stops the clock and Hawkins gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Morgan. Hawkins manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Hawkins throws a quick inside leg kick.
Morgan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Morgan throws a wild body kick that Hawkins sees coming a mile off.
Hawkins shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Morgan eats them both and turns towards Hawkins to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Hawkins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Morgan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hawkins scrambles back to his feet.

Hawkins feints and as Morgan raises his hands in defense, Hawkins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sandy Hawkins hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hawkins tries to bum rush Morgan with a series of wild strikes but Morgan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Morgan pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

and Hawkins counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hawkins drops Morgan with a right and a left! Hawkins comes rushing in but Morgan regains his composure and manages to keep Hawkins in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Morgan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hawkins controls the pace.

Hawkins is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Hawkins!
