Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greg Rosgen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Calaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calaway has chosen R.I.P. as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Greg Rosgen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Calaway!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calaway throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Calaway lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Rosgen throws a series of punches but Calaway moves out of range.
Calaway throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Calaway's corner calls for a 1-2. Calaway obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rosgen attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Rosgen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Calaway avoids the body shot from Rosgen.
Rosgen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Calaway.
Rosgen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rosgen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Calaway misses with a wild body shot.
Rosgen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rosgen there as he acknowledges the shot.
Calaway throws a hook but Rosgen blocks it.

Calaway does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Rosgen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rosgen lands a nice looking body kick.
Calaway looks gassed!

Rosgen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Calaway at a distance.
Rosgen is looking to slow Calaway down with leg kicks.

Rosgen dives in and grabs Calaway's left leg, looking for a takedown. Calaway pushes down on Rosgen's head and hops out.

Rosgen shoots for a double leg takedown but Calaway sprawls well. He's pushed Rosgen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Calaway lands with a hook. Rosgen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rosgen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheers as Rosgen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Calaway doesn't seem phased though.
Rosgen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rosgen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Calaway circles away.
Rosgen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rosgen looks to score with a jab to the body but Calaway is just out of range.

Calaway stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rosgen.

Calaway has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rosgen finds it's way round the side to connect with Calaway's head.

Rosgen is trying to get an arm triangle but Calaway is defending well.
Rosgen creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Rosgen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Calaway keeps working.
Calaway gets back to half guard.
Rosgen is trying to control the action in half guard but Calaway is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Calaway is in trouble now - Rosgen has advanced to mount!

Calaway is bucking up trying to escape but Rosgen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rosgen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Calaway doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rosgen.
Calaway tries to roll over but Rosgen keeps him under control.
Rosgen trying to control from Calaway's half guard. Calaway has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Rosgen throws an elbow that misses. Calaway uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rosgen's guard. Nice move by Calaway!

Rosgen has his foot on Calaway's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Calaway works his way back into a safe position though.
Calaway must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Calaway wants to control from the top but Rosgen keeps moving.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rosgen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Calaway doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Calaway manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rosgen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rosgen wants to stand and escape but Calaway is having none of it.
Rosgen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Calaway can do to turn this around?
Calaway wants to control from the top but Rosgen keeps moving.
Calaway is pushing down on Rosgen's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rosgen is fighting to maintain full guard but Calaway has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rosgen is not content to let Calaway control the position.

Rosgen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rosgen is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Calaway has his hands clasped together but Rosgen extends an breaks Calaway's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rosgen.
