Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renzo DeSilka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Keane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think DeSilka might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to International Love by Pitbull. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Renzo DeSilka!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mickey Keane!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Keane moves into the clinch.
Keane is pushing DeSilka up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Keane swings wildly with an uppercut but DeSilka uses good head movement to avoid it.
Still in the clinch, Keane scores with a nice short uppercut.
Keane working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
DeSilka looking for a takedown.
DeSilka tries to pull guard but Keane forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
DeSilka jumps guard but Keane turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Renzo DeSilka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
DeSilka tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
DeSilka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Keane controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

DeSilka looking for a guillotine here but Keane defends easily.

DeSilka working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Keane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Keane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
DeSilka tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Keane got a little sloppy there for a moment and DeSilka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Keane has managed to get both his arms back between DeSilka's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
DeSilka is letting Keane control him for a moment.
Keane wants to lay and pray for a moment but DeSilka keeps working.
Keane moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
DeSilka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Keane is on top in guard.

DeSilka is trying to control the position from the bottom.

DeSilka has his foot on Keane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Keane works his way back into a safe position though.

DeSilka looking for subs off his back but Keane has passed one foot through into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Keane moves into full mount! DeSilka won't be happy about that!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Keane looking to control but DeSilka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeSilka is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mickey Keane dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


DeSilka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Keane.

Keane is pulling down on DeSilka's head. It's preventing any offense from DeSilka, at least for the moment.
DeSilka postures up.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
DeSilka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Renzo DeSilka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

DeSilka is looking for a kimura here.
DeSilka wants to free his trapped foot but Keane is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Keane has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. DeSilka is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are battling for position here. Keane manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DeSilka is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Keane wants to sweep but no luck.
Keane is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

DeSilka postures up in Keane's guard and throws a big left but Keane blocks it.

DeSilka is pushing down on Keane's leg trying to pass to half guard. Keane is fighting to maintain full guard but DeSilka has managed to sneak the leg through.

DeSilka is trying to work for a kimura but Keane is defending well.

Keane is controlling an arm, preventing DeSilka from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Keane can't escape the position.
Keane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
DeSilka tries to push Keane's head away but Keane is holding on tight.

Keane is trying to escape the mount but DeSilka keeps good control and instead manages to take Keane's back.
Keane trying to control the hands but DeSilka breaks the grip.

DeSilka working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

DeSilka is looking for the choke from the back position but Keane is controlling his hands well.
Keane is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get DeSilka off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
DeSilka is trying to stick to Keane's back but Keane is turning into DeSilka. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in DeSilka's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Keane.

DeSilka has his feet on Keane's thighs here. He's pushed Keane off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Keane screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

After the fight, Renzo DeSilka was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
