Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rendo Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Almaz Anzor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Anzor's choice of entrance music: Ты кто такой?. Almaz Anzor has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rendo Gracie's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rendo Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Almaz Anzor! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anzor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
Anzor misses with a double jab.

Anzor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it. Gracie tries to clinch up. Almaz Anzor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Anzor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Anzor misses with a few strikes there.
An inside leg kick from Anzor misses. Gracie fails with the takedown. Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anzor but Anzor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gracie has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rendo Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Anzor was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard. Gracie has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Gracie advances position into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie taking a breather here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie taking a break here but Anzor is having none of it and regains half guard. Gracie trying to control from half guard but Anzor is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is looking to advance position but Anzor won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie stalling away here and it's allowed Anzor to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Anzor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Anzor keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anzor works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Anzor wants to stand and escape but Gracie is having none of it. Anzor can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Gracie seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Anzor knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie is just content to waste time from the top position. Anzor takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Gracie content to stall in guard here. Anzor looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rendo Gracie dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Anzor throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie dodges the punch combination from Anzor.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Anzor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Anzor has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gracie. Anzor lands a right hook to the body.

Anzor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Anzor is just out of range. Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anzor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anzor throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie wants to clinch up but Anzor keeps it at a distance. Gracie changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anzor looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to control but Anzor is keeping him busy. Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Anzor has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Anzor. Gracie is trying to improve his position. Anzor tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anzor has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Anzor is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anzor is looking for a kimura here.
Anzor is breathing heavily. Anzor wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie. Gracie has a closed guard, preventing Anzor from standing up. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anzor passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gracie can't do much from the bottom here. Gracie is not content to let Anzor control the position. Gracie struggling a bit here. Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Anzor is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anzor is working for a kimura but Gracie is defending it quite comfortably.

Gracie is looking to control Anzor's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted? Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie pushes Anzor off looking to stand but Anzor dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rendo Gracie will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Anzor fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie. Anzor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anzor, pushing him back against the cage. Gracie has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Anzor avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Anzor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Anzor tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Anzor's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard. Rendo Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gracie is working for a kimura but Anzor is defending it quite comfortably.
Anzor tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Anzor trying to control from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie working Anzor over with strikes. Gracie throwing shots but Anzor is blocking nicely. Anzor looks like he's trying to stand up.
Gracie not landing any meaningful shots this time. Anzor gets full guard. Anzor is trying to control the position but Gracie postures up. Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie slips a nice elbow through Anzor's hands, connecting with Anzor's forehead. Gracie prevents Anzor from improving his position. Anzor won't allow Gracie to pass to mount. Gracie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anzor does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Anzor is looking to escape. Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Anzor's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anzor. Gracie with shots to the head and body - Anzor looks very uncomfortable down there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie prevents Anzor from getting the reversal. Gracie trying to control but Anzor is having none of it. Gracie working Anzor over with strikes here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Rendo Gracie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
