Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Musasi Miyamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Musasi Miyamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raphael Alves!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a head kick but Miyamoto moves out of range.

Miyamoto closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alves did well to prevent Miyamoto getting side control.

Miyamoto is looking for a kimura but Alves is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Miyamoto to get the leverage.

Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miyamoto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Miyamoto is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Miyamoto eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Miyamoto fails with a takedown attempt.
Alves tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Miyamoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Miyamoto shoots in for a takedown but Alves shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Miyamoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alves's waist but Alves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Miyamoto off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Musasi Miyamoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Miyamoto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Alves on his heels. He'll look to pass Alves's guard now, I'm sure.
Alves is looking to stand up but Miyamoto isn't so interested in that idea.
Miyamoto wants to pass the guard but Alves is keeping the position.
Miyamoto is pushing down on Alves's leg trying to pass to half guard. Alves is fighting to maintain full guard but Miyamoto has managed to sneak the leg through.
Alves wants to get back to his feet.

Miyamoto has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Alves defend it? Miyamoto steps over the head and cranks it - Alves is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Miyamoto!
