Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dostoinii Paren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Houston! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paren closes this distance looking for a takedown but Houston circles away. Houston misses with a body kick. Paren fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Houston throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Paren was covering up waiting for the punch and Houston finishes the takedown easily into guard. Houston won't allow Paren to sweep him here. Houston wants to control from the top but Paren keeps moving. Houston must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Paren can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Houston controls the pace. Houston trying to stand up but can't free himself from Paren's guard. Houston lands a couple of digs. Houston got a little sloppy there for a moment and Paren has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Houston has managed to get both his arms back between Paren's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Houston would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Houston is looking to work some ground and pound but Paren has wrist control. Houston wants to control from the top but Paren keeps moving. Paren is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Paren has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Houston throws a big right hand that misses. Houston missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Houston stopping the sweep attempt from Paren. Paren managing to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Paren throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Houston was covering up waiting for the punch and Paren finishes the takedown easily into guard. Paren throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Houston utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Paren is in close to Houston's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paren working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Paren postures up in Houston's guard and throws a big left but Houston blocks it. Paren throwing strikes but missing. Paren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Paren throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Houston avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Paren with a flurry of punches that miss. Paren lands a couple of decent looking shots. Paren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Paren landing some decent shots from guard. Paren trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Houston keeping full guard, as Paren tries to pass. Paren postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Houston looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Paren stands up over Houston, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Paren's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paren working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Houston is trying to control the position but Paren postures up. Houston looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Houston looks gassed! Paren is looking to work some ground and pound but Houston has wrist control. Paren landing with the ground and pound. Paren with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Houston looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paren is one step ahead there. Paren makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Paren is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Houston is rocked! Paren is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Houston is still in real trouble! Can Paren finish him? Paren arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Houston's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
