Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Josimar Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Souza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fernandez is trying to maintain the position but Souza is very close to passing his half guard.
Souza looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernandez on the ground.
Souza is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Fernandez wants to get back to his feet.
Souza will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Souza passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fernandez!
Souza wants to finish this one by submission but Fernandez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Souza.
Fernandez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Souza takes Fernandez's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Fernandez is in trouble.

Souza is trying to stick to Fernandez's back but Fernandez is turning into Souza. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Souza's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fernandez.
Fernandez drops back looking for a leg! Souza is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Souza manages to kick Fernandez off! Fernandez jumps back into Souza's guard.

Souza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fernandez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fernandez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fernandez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Souza has hold of Fernandez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fernandez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Souza moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fernandez has worked his arm free - good work by Fernandez!
Souza is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Fernandez is trying to escape and Souza transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Fernandez is forced to tap! Nice work there by Souza! Very nice indeed!
