Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jens Pulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pulver comes into the arena with The Little Evil blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jens Pulver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Stone! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pulver fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stone to the ground. Pulver is now in Stone's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Stone is looking to stand up but Pulver isn't so interested in that idea. Pulver trying to control the position from guard on top but Stone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pulver wants to pass the guard but Stone is keeping the position. Pulver passes easily into side control. Nice work. Pulver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working. Stone is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pulver asserts his dominance and retains side control. Stone is not content to let Pulver control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone is pushing Pulver's head away, looking to escape. Pulver manages to hold on to the position though. Pulver is trying to get an arm triangle but Stone is defending well. Pulver is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stone has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pulver fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Pulver passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Stone! Pulver working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Stone is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pulver unloading with bombs! Pulver tries to control but Stone wriggling away. Stone is trying to stand up. Pulver scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Stone?

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulver landing strikes from the mount. Pulver has control of Stone's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Stone regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pulver with good strikes from the mount here! Pulver wants to control the pace but Stone is squirming around nicely. Pulver has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pulver is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stone has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stone! Stone gets to his feet. Pulver looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Pulver closes the distance and clinches up with Stone, looking for a takedown. Pulver pushes Stone against the cage but Stone circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stone fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pulver closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stone quickly recovers to half guard. Stone looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pulver trying to pass the guard but Stone defending well. Stone pushes Pulver off looking to stand but Pulver dives back in and keeps control.
Pulver is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pulver looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pulver is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stone doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pulver. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pulver trying to keep a closed guard but Stone is proving a slippery customer.
Stone stands up from Pulver's guard - Stone perhaps looking for a knockout. Stone throws a head kick that misses. Some wild striking there from Stone.
Pulver shoots in but Stone avoids the takedown attempt easily. Stone throws a left and a right that both miss

Stone is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pulver scores with a couple of nice shots. Stone tries to kick Pulver off but Pulver keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pulver is keen to just control but Stone is a slippery customer. Pulver controlling the action here. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Pulver's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jens Pulver has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Pulver looks for a takedown but Stone sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pulver has closed the distance and engaged Stone in a clinch.

Pulver manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Pulver has an active guard here but Stone has managed to pass into half guard.

Stone stands and steps away. Pulver gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pulver shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jens Pulver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stone misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pulver looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Stone! Pulver lands a nice shot to the head. Pulver jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Stone manages to avoid the submission attempt. Pulver tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pulver has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stone is not content to let Pulver control the position.

He's almost out here... but no, Pulver gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Pulver trying to control the position but Stone is working away. Pulver tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Stone wants to get back to his feet but Pulver is dominant here and he's now got Stone's back! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stone controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. Stone defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Pulver's arms. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pulver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stone swivels and escapes. Pulver shoots for a takedown but Stone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Stone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pulver. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jens Pulver. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pulver avoids the head kick by Stone.

Stone manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stone throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pulver is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Stone has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Stone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pulver. Stone stalks Pulver and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pulver's face. Pulver staggers backwards, shaken. A combination from Stone does no damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pulver misses with a takedown attempt - Stone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jens Pulver is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stone misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jens Pulver. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pulver, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
