Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ashley Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bartholomew Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartholomew Simpson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bartholomew Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davies moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Bartholomew Simpson has been cut.
Simpson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
It looks like Ashley Davies has been cut.
Davies misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Simpson tests Davies's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Simpson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Davies throws a body kick that misses
and Simpson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Davies tries to move into range but Simpson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Davies.
Davies misses with a body shot.
Simpson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ashley Davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Simpson staying out of range there.
Simpson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Simpson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Davies throws a big shot that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Davies lands with an uppercut that bounces Simpson off the cage and back into range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Simpson, right into the meat.
Simpson misses with an uppercut.
Simpson misses with a body kick.
Davies shoots for a takedown but Simpson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Simpson misses the shot to the body.
A jab from Simpson finds it's way through Davies's defenses.
Ashley Davies's cut is getting worse.
Simpson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Davies at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simpson looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Davies gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Davies is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Davies lands with a short shot to the head.

Davies works on Simpson's body with a couple of short punches.
Come on Simpson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Simpson is trying to stall.
Davies gets through Simpson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Davies tries to circle away but Simpson has him pinned against the cage.
Davies is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Simpson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Davies wants to break the clinch but can't.
Simpson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Davies misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Davies lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Simpson breaks from the clinch.
Davies fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ashley Davies. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davies walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Simpson cracks Davies with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Simpson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Davies to stand back up!
Davies is rocked!
Ashley Davies's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Simpson closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Davies out cold! Davies corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bartholomew Simpson!

Bartholomew Simpson gave a mention to Hell's Balls Recovery (160) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
