Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mega Boes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Johnson! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Johnson gets caught napping as Boes dives in and scores a takedown. Johnson manages to retain guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Johnson has a closed guard, preventing Boes from standing up. Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Johnson looks gassed! Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boes postures up.
Boes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Johnson is proving hard to escape from.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Boes which made him look bad.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Boes is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Boes controlling from the full mount. Johnson is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boes controlling the position easily from mount. Boes tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Boes looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mega Boes dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Boes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Boes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Johnson is trying to escape the mount.
Johnson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Johnson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boes is looking to stand but Boes has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boes controlling from mount. Boes tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Boes controlling the position easily from mount.
Mega Boes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boes is trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boes wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Boes is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Boes prevents Johnson from improving position. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Boes is trying to buck Johnson off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mega Boes dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boes swivels and escapes. Boes looking to score a takedown here. Johnson is defending well but Boes drives through and ends up in Johnson's guard. Boes wants to stand but Johnson is controlling his posture from full guard. Boes trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Johnson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Johnson wants to sweep here but Boes controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Johnson's guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Mega Boes wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Johnson has his takedown stuffed and Boes counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard. Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boes wants to stand but Johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Mega Boes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Johnson wants to clinch but Boes slips to the side and Boes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! You can see the frustration on Johnson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Boes tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boes tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head. Harry Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Mega Boes showed his dominance in that final round. Well Boes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
