Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Cola! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doblez Mundo! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mundo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A combination from Mundo does no damage. Cola fails to land the takedown. Mundo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Mundo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mundo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Mundo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mundo looks for the body kick but Cola saw that one coming. Mundo misses with a body shot.

Mundo misses with a low kick as Cola jumps back. Mundo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cola shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mundo as he avoids it easily. Cola closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cola trying to mount his opponent but Mundo defends it. Cola stops Mundo from getting back to his feet.
Cola wants to work for an arm triangle but Mundo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mundo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Mundo tries to roll over but Cola keeps him under control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mundo trying to hold on to Cola's head to control him but Cola postures up.
Cola is trying to control the action in half guard but Mundo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mundo tries to roll over but Cola keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mundo is looking to get back to full guard here but Cola has managed to pass to side control instead. Cola really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cola content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mundo struggling a bit here. Cola trying to control the action but Mundo is working from the bottom. Mundo is looking to reverse the position. Mundo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Cola presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Mundo wants to control but Cola is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cola is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mundo has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cola trying to control but Mundo is having none of it. Mundo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Cola gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Doblez Mundo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cola throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mundo was covering up waiting for the punch and Cola finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cola missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cola is working Mundo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Cola stands up from Mundo's guard - Cola perhaps looking for a knockout. Mundo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mundo tries to work over Cola's front leg with a kick but Cola checks it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mundo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mundo throws a head kick that misses. The fight stays on the outside here - Cola looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cola shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Cola dominated that round. That's time! Cola's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mundo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cola. Mundo throws a head kick that misses. Mundo throws a half hearted mid kick. Cola checks a low kick from Mundo. Mundo dodges the punch combination from Cola.
Cola decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mundo has hold of Cola's hands but Cola slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mundo manages to escape and get back to his feet! A combination from Mundo does no damage. Doblez Mundo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mundo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Cola here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Mundo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Mundo is breathing heavily. Mundo misses with a few strikes there.
Cola shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mundo but Mundo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mundo blocks a jab. Mundo misses with a kick to the body and Cola moves into the clinch. Cola pulls Mundo into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cola is on top in guard.
Cola passes Mundo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Cola seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Cola seems to be working for a kimura but Mundo defends the submission attempt. Cola keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cola missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Cola tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mundo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mundo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cola passes to side control. Cola working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
This has been an exciting period of action! Mundo is trying to improve his position.

Cola is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mundo will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Cola grinds an elbow into Mundo's temple. Greg Cola overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mundo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cola wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Cola has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mundo sneaks back into half guard. Cola trying to control the action but Mundo is working from the bottom. Cola is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mundo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cola.

Cola is trying to control the action in half guard but Mundo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cola lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Cola seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mundo is trying to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cola performing his best blanket impression for a moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Cola dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Mundo lands with a hook. Cola tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Cola tries to clinch there but Mundo circles away.
Mundo scores with a hook to the body. Cola takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Cola dodges the punch combination from Mundo.

Mundo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Mundo fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Cola checks it well. Mundo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cola throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mundo was covering up waiting for the punch and Cola finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cola trying to control but Mundo is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cola slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mundo keeping moving, preventing Cola from controlling successfully. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Mundo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Greg Cola just wasn't active enough. Cola shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cola content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mundo is looking to control Cola's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mundo avoid being mounted? Cola slows the pace down in half guard. Cola passes the guard and advances to mount! Mundo tries to lock up and control but Cola gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cola content just to control the position here. Mundo tries to improve his position but instead Cola has taken his back! Cola lands strikes to the head. Cola is not going to allow Mundo to sit and survive in this position. Cola sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Mundo taps out!
