0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Cormier! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cormier looking to score a takedown here. Kaczynski is defending well but Cormier drives through and ends up in Kaczynski's guard. Kaczynski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cormier wants to control from the top but Kaczynski keeps moving. Cormier has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Cormier postures up in Kaczynski's guard and throws a big left but Kaczynski blocks it. Kaczynski working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cormier. Kaczynski preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Cormier is in close to Kaczynski's body, working some short punches and elbows. Kaczynski wants to stand up but Cormier is controlling him. Cormier throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cormier postures up in Kaczynski's guard and throws a big left but Kaczynski blocks it. Cormier lands a couple of elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cormier stands up over Kaczynski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Cormier is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Cormier pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kaczynski is keeping the position for now. Kaczynski wants to stand and escape but Cormier is having none of it. Cormier trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Kaczynski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cormier controls the pace. Cormier is looking to work some ground and pound but Kaczynski has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kaczynski is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaczynski is working an open guard so Cormier takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Cormier looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Cormier lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cormier stands and steps away. Kaczynski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Cormier shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cormier with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Kaczynski is trying to stand up here but Cormier is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cormier is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kaczynski has managed to free his arm - good work. Kaczynski taking some punishment here, with Cormier in his half guard. Cormier thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Cormier not doing much here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cormier is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kaczynski's half guard. Cormier perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cormier throwing shots but Kaczynski is blocking nicely. Cormier controlling the action here. Kaczynski pushes Cormier off looking to stand but Cormier dives back in and keeps control.

Cormier missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Cormier content to control rather than advance. Cormier slips a nice elbow through Kaczynski's hands, connecting with Kaczynski's forehead. Cormier throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Kaczynski to regain full guard. Kaczynski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Cormier is stalling in the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cormier missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Cormier content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kaczynski has momentary wrist control but Cormier slips an elbow through the middle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cormier loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Daniel Cormier has got the better of the ground game so far. Kaczynski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cormier controls the pace. Cormier lands a couple of elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cormier not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cormier throws a big elbow that misses. Cormier is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cormier postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Excellent takedown into side control there by Cormier. Cormier working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cormier taking a breather here. Cormier lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kaczynski down.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kaczynski wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! You can see the frustration on Kaczynski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cormier connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kaczynski some visible discomfort.
Cormier is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kaczynski knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Cormier showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Cormier lands a couple of decent looking shots. Cormier throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kaczynski works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cormier's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cormier gets to his feet and stands over Kaczynski, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kaczynski felt that one! Cormier unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kaczynski from any more punishment!
