Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Ciro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arwind Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ciro's entrance music is Back down. A fine choice. Arwind Santos is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Ciro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arwind Santos! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Ciro has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ciro is trying to push Santos away but Santos has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Ciro has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ciro lands a body shot in the clinch.

Santos stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Ciro. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santos closes the distance and clinches. Santos goes for a takedown in the clinch but Ciro prevents it.

and Santos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ciro's guard. Santos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Santos drops back looking for a leg! Ciro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ciro manages to kick Santos off! Santos jumps back into Ciro's guard. Ciro is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ciro won't allow Santos to pass to mount. Ciro keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos works his way into side control. Ciro tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Santos easily slips into full mount! Santos jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ciro manages to avoid the submission attempt. Ciro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ciro tries to get out of the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santos prevents Ciro from escaping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santos shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ciro napping and manages to drive through into side control! Santos happy to just control the position for now. Santos throws an elbow but Ciro slips to the side and avoids it well. Santos tries for a kimura but Ciro is defending well. Santos misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Santos is trying to ground and pound but Ciro uses the momentary lack of control by Santos to regain half guard. Ciro wants to control but Santos is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos throwing shots but Ciro is blocking nicely. Ciro is looking to improve his position.
Santos is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Santos is trying to control. Ciro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Santos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Santos is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Ciro avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Santos. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ciro is trying to control but Santos manages to pass to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ciro's face.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santos avoids the attempt from Ciro to control. Santos sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Arwind Santos has got the better of the ground game so far. Ciro can't escape the position.
Santos working for a guillotine from mount but Ciro is in no mood to give up. Santos has control of Ciro's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Ciro regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Arwind Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Ciro's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Santos drives through and clinches with Ciro against the cage.
Santos keeps control of Ciro as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ciro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Santos shoots in and bounces Ciro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Santos throwing strikes but missing. Santos wants to control from the top but Ciro keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Santos drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santos jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Santos wants to pass the guard but Ciro is keeping the position. Ciro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ciro throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos forces his way into half guard. Santos tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ciro controls his leg. Santos is looking to take a break and control but Ciro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ciro is trying to maintain the position but Santos is very close to passing his half guard. Santos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ciro is looking to control Santos's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ciro avoid being mounted? Ciro is defending against the submission attempts here by Santos.
Santos moves nicely into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ciro knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Santos looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ciro is avoiding damage well.
Tom Ciro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Santos trying to control the action but Ciro is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Ciro's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
