0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Hansen! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faria moves into the clinch. Hansen misses with a body punch.
Hansen is trying to break free. Faria breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hansen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Faria instigates a clinch. Faria escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hansen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Faria is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Faria lands a high kick!
It looks like James Hansen has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hansen shoots in for a double leg but Faria sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Faria keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hansen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hansen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Faria is fending him off so far but Hansen persists. Nope, Faria circles away and we're back to standing. Lucas Faria has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Hansen. Faria has closed the distance and engaged Hansen in a clinch.
Faria lands an elbow just above Hansen 's eye.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faria breaks the clinch.
Faria has taken the fight to the clinch.
Faria gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hansen.
Faria lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Hansen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hansen showed some decent athleticism there. Faria moves into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Faria has control of Hansen's left arm, preventing Hansen from doing any damage. Faria pushes Hansen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hansen tries to keep at a distance but Faria has taken the fight into the clinch. Faria escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Faria connects with a high kick. Faria fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hansen, pushing him back against the cage. Faria manages to break the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Look low, kick high! Faria uses the oldest trick in the book to send Hansen tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Faria is absolutely delighted - when Hansen wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Lucas Faria! An out of breath and clearly excited Lucas Faria thanked Brute for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
