Cid comes to the cage accompanied by There's No Home for You Here. On his way into the cage it seems that Xavier Cid has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Xavier Cid seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paulista moves into the clinch successfully.
Cid lands a good knee to the midsection. Paulista won't want to take too many of those.
Paulista takes a knee right on the jaw!
Cid content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Cid prevents Paulista from breaking the clinch.
Paulista is trying to push Cid away but Cid has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Paulista misses with a hook from the clinch.

Cid drops Paulista with a big knee straight up the middle! Paulista is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Paulista is rocked!

It looks like Tricolor Paulista has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cid turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Paulista is still on wobbly legs! Can Cid finish him?
Whack! Cid lands a heavy head kick that drops Paulista. The ref tackles Cid to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Paulista was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Xavier Cid!
Xavier Cid decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
