Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chase DeLong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. http://youtu.be/tAGnKpE4NCI kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Nate Diaz will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeLong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Diaz managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by DeLong.

That's one minute gone in the round. DeLong swings around for an armbar but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into DeLong's guard. DeLong is trying to control the position but Diaz postures up. Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but DeLong is retaining full guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. DeLong lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Diaz! Oh, Diaz has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! DeLong might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Diaz is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but DeLong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. DeLong sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz is trying to keep DeLong in close.
DeLong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Diaz dives on top into guard. DeLong throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! DeLong is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! DeLong has escaped and now he's on top! DeLong with a flurry of punches that miss. Diaz is breathing heavily. DeLong postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. DeLong is looking to work some ground and pound but Diaz has wrist control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeLong in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. DeLong wants to pass the guard but Diaz is keeping the position. Diaz keeping moving, preventing DeLong from controlling successfully. DeLong throws a big elbow that misses. DeLong throwing strikes from guard but Diaz blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chase DeLong dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
DeLong tries for a takedown but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt. DeLong shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Diaz sprawls well. Diaz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. DeLong gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz has a takedown stuffed. Diaz looks for a takedown but DeLong sprawls well. Chase DeLong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Diaz. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around DeLong's waist but DeLong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. DeLong shoots in for a double leg but Diaz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. DeLong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. DeLong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeLong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Diaz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. DeLong working the head and body with strikes. DeLong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Diaz defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeLong throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. DeLong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Diaz is defending against the submission attempts here by DeLong.

And that's the end of the fight! Chase DeLong showed his dominance in that final round. Well DeLong has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
