Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Philthy Rich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cassio Alves!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves slips under a jab from Rich.
Rich misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rich lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Philthy Rich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sloppy strikes from Rich. Those never looked like landing.

Alves moves into the clinch.

Alves breaks the clinch.
Rich misses with a lunging right hand

and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves.
Alves manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rich tries to score a body lock takedown but Alves shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Alves's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alves with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Philthy Rich has been cut.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Cassio Alves.
Alves showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rich.

Alves moves into the clinch.
Alves scores with a hook to the body.
Rich is breathing heavily.

Alves drops Rich with a big knee straight up the middle! Rich is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alves has closed the distance and engaged Rich in a clinch.
Alves lands a knee to the head.


Rich is rocked!

Alves stalls.

Alves lands a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Alves is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Alves might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Cassio Alves has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Rich throws a right and a left that both miss.
Philthy Rich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rich misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rich throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rich misses with the combination.
Rich misses with a double jab

and Alves counters by clinching up.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Alves pulls guard.
Alves wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Rich with a flurry of punches that miss.

Alves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Alves managing to control the position.
Rich throws an elbow that misses. Alves uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rich's guard. Nice move by Alves!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alves passes Rich's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Alves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alves seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Rich trying to get back to full guard but Alves takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Alves sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cassio Alves dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Philthy Rich's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Alves landing knees to the head.
Alves prevents the takedown attempt.
Alves scores with a shot to the side of Rich's head.
Alves lands a knee to the body.
Cassio Alves seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Alves's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rich misses with a combination
and Alves counters with a massive head kick! KABOOM! Rich is out cold! A devastating KO!
