Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rabbit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raymond Lam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Rabbit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raymond Lam!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabbit slaps away a takedown attempt from Lam, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rabbit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lam tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rabbit wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Rabbit controls the position from side control.
Lam can't do much from the bottom here.

Rabbit is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lam knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
A lull in the action here.
Rabbit knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lam on the ground.

Lam tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lam is not content to let Rabbit control the position.
Lam takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Rabbit throwing strikes but Lam manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Lam misses with the ground and pound.
Lam wants to control but Rabbit is keeping him busy.
Rabbit is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Rabbit makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rabbit.
Rabbit looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rabbit is working hard here to advance position.
Rabbit manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rabbit is working for a guillotine from mount but Lam frees his head quite easily.
Lam is wriggling around trying to escape.

Rabbit moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Lam has worked his arm free - good work by Lam!
Lam is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rabbit taking a break here but Lam is having none of it and regains half guard.
Rabbit is pressing down on Lam's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lam is holding on for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lam makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Rabbit has taken the fight to the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Rabbit dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lam fails with a takedown attempt.
Raymond Lam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rabbit goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Lam takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rabbit fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lam avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice shot lands for Rabbit.

Rabbit gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lam is working for takedown but Rabbit is calmly controlling the position for now.
Rabbit is trying to break the clinch but Lam is controlling him.

Lam has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rabbit after a bit of a struggle.
Roger Rabbit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raymond Lam.
Lam is breathing heavily.
Lam jumps guard but Rabbit stands there with Lam around his waist. Lam gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lam tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Rabbit breaks from the clinch.
Lam closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rabbit circles away.
Rabbit tried to score with a low kick but Lam checks it.

Rabbit fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lam, pushing him back against the cage.

Rabbit just leaning against Lam, taking a breather.
Lam blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lam wants a takedown.
Rabbit misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Lam.

Rabbit drags the fight down to the ground.
Lam won't allow Rabbit to sweep him here.
Rabbit pulls Lam in to control the position.
Lam won't allow Rabbit to sweep him here.
Lam wants to control from the top but Rabbit keeps moving.
Rabbit trying to keep a closed guard but Lam is proving a slippery customer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rabbit circles away from the clinch attempt.

Rabbit closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lam's guard.
Rabbit is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lam keeping moving, preventing Rabbit from controlling successfully.
Rabbit passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Lam tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Rabbit tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Rabbit cracks Lam with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Rabbit wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lam keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rabbit tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rabbit working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Rabbit dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Lam closes the distance and clinches up with Rabbit, looking for a takedown. Lam pushes Rabbit against the cage but Rabbit circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Roger Rabbit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rabbit throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lam was covering up waiting for the punch and Rabbit finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Rabbit trying to control but Lam is working from the bottom.
Rabbit might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rabbit has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Roger Rabbit wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rabbit will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lam.
Lam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nice takedown defense from Rabbit. No joy for Lam on that attempt.
Roger Rabbit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raymond Lam.
Rabbit throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rabbit slaps away a takedown attempt from Lam, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rabbit throws a head kick but Lam moves out of range.

Lam takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Rabbit shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rabbit showed some decent athleticism there.
Rabbit not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Roger Rabbit overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rabbit is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rabbit is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lam can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lam is bucking up trying to escape but Rabbit cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rabbit fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Roger Rabbit is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rabbit cracks Lam with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Rabbit prevents Lam from getting the reversal.
Rabbit tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Lam is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rabbit controlling the pace for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roger Rabbit showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rabbit has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
