Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke McKendrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rudd has chosen Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke McKendrick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Rudd! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rudd gets the takedown into side control. McKendrick is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rudd's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. McKendrick is pressing down on Rudd's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rudd tries to free his leg and advance position but McKendrick is retaining full guard. McKendrick lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rudd! Rudd flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Rudd is trying desperately to improve position. McKendrick is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rudd can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rudd bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rudd is looking to advance position but McKendrick has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Rudd in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. McKendrick is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rudd has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by McKendrick. Rudd is squirming around, avoiding McKendrick's attempts to control the action. McKendrick controlling from the full mount. Rudd is desperately trying to improve his position but McKendrick has a good base and remains in mount. Rudd regains half guard. Rudd wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rudd looks gassed! McKendrick frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. McKendrick is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rudd can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McKendrick with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rudd tries to lock up and control but McKendrick gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McKendrick putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Rudd tries to hold on but McKendrick pushes him away. McKendrick is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rudd has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rudd! Rudd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKendrick swivels though and keeps the full guard. Rudd preventing the sweep. Rudd is working McKendrick over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rudd trying to control the position from guard on top but McKendrick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McKendrick looking for a sweep. Not yet McKendrick, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKendrick manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

McKendrick wants to control the pace but Rudd is squirming around nicely. McKendrick has hold of Rudd's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rudd manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rudd is looking to improve his position but McKendrick isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rudd is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, McKendrick has taken his back.
McKendrick scores with punches to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McKendrick is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rudd knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rudd for a finish. McKendrick gets his hands free as Rudd looks to control. McKendrick just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Rudd is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get McKendrick off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McKendrick looking for the choke but no joy. McKendrick looking for the choke from the back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke McKendrick dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
McKendrick gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rudd to score an easy takedown into full guard. Rudd tries to free his leg and advance position but McKendrick is retaining full guard. McKendrick is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Rudd rolls with it to try and escape but McKendrick cranks on the arm and Rudd is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Luke McKendrick! An out of breath Luke McKendrick thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
