Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says James as he avoids it easily.
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diaz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.
James gets a clinch.
James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

James tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
James throws a lazy right hand but Diaz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. James sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
James is trying to stand up here but Diaz is controlling him well.

Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so James is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold.

The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Diaz throws a nice looking combination but James bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

James tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Diaz manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.
Bobo James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Diaz.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. James eats them both and turns towards Diaz to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Diaz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Nate Diaz will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!
James scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
James creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Diaz bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
James throws a series of punches but Diaz moves out of range.
Diaz swats away the attempt to clinch by James.
Diaz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Nate Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.
James manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
James lands a big shot there that rocks Diaz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Diaz tries to reverse the position but James maintains control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Diaz is squirming around, avoiding James's attempts to control the action.
Diaz tries to lock up and control but James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Diaz is trying to escape the mount.
James breaks from Diaz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Diaz really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
James is working for a guillotine from mount but Diaz frees his head quite easily.
Diaz blocking the ground and pound.

You get the feeling that Diaz really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Diaz is breathing heavily.
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
James scores with a couple of good head shots there.

James is landing with some decent strikes but Diaz is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
