Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alan Corke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Tomatoes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alan Corke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Tomatoes!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomatoes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Tomatoes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnny Tomatoes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tomatoes is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Corke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Corke swats away the attempt to clinch by Tomatoes.
Tomatoes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Corke paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Corke scores with a takedown into Tomatoes's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Corke's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tomatoes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Tomatoes controls Corke momentarily but Corke frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alan Corke wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Corke clinches up with Tomatoes and pushes him back against the cage.
Tomatoes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Corke walks away with a smile on his face. Tomatoes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alan Corke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Tomatoes.

Tomatoes misses with a takedown attempt
and Corke connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tomatoes looks gassed!
Corke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Corke lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Corke tries to close the distance and clinch but Tomatoes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

so Corke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Corke is looking to work some ground and pound but Tomatoes has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Corke stays in close to Tomatoes's body and controls the position.

Corke lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Tomatoes or not.
Tomatoes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Corke.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tomatoes tries to stall but Corke uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Corke lands a takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Tomatoes jumps guard but Corke turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Corke keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tomatoes's efforts to push away.
Corke pushes Tomatoes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Corke misses with a punch to the body.

Corke escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tomatoes misses with a takedown

so Corke counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tomatoes is breathing heavily.
Tomatoes preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Corke is looking to work some ground and pound but Tomatoes has wrist control.
Corke trying to control the position from guard on top but Tomatoes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Corke postures up in Tomatoes's guard and throws a big left but Tomatoes blocks it.
Tomatoes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Corke's guard.
Corke is trying to keep Tomatoes in close.

Corke pulls Tomatoes in close to his closed guard and prevents Tomatoes from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Alan Corke.

and Corke counters with a shoot takedown. Tomatoes fights it but they end up in guard.

Corke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tomatoes lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Corke has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Corke and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Corke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tomatoes can do to turn this around?

Alan Corke is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tomatoes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
