Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gouki Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Dagger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jim Dagger has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sakuraba misses with a wild combination.
Dagger moves into the clinch.
Sakuraba is trying to break free.
Dagger is trying to trip Sakuraba. He has hold of a leg but Sakuraba is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dagger persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dagger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sakuraba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dagger on the ground.
It looks like Dagger might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jim Dagger hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dagger closes the distance and clinches.
Dagger tightens his grip and picks Sakuraba up, before dumping him to the ground. Sakuraba manages to land in guard.
Dagger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sakuraba swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dagger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sakuraba's guard.

Dagger lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Dagger has Sakuraba pressed against the cage, preventing Sakuraba from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sakuraba tries to break free but Dagger pushes him back against the cage.

Dagger lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Sakuraba.
Dagger gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dagger drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Dagger seems to have locked his on tight now - Sakuraba screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Dagger, as he picks up the win!
