Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Currie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Currie comes to the cage accompanied by Helmet - Just Another Victim. Rua has chosen Don't Talk To Strangers as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Currie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Rua! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua missing with a left hand there. Currie was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. The fight stays on the outside here - Currie looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rua drops his hands momentarily and Currie takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Currie misses with a low kick.
Currie tries to land a front kick but Rua steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Rua fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Currie loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch. Currie throws a series of strikes that have Rua backpedaling.
Rua connects with a high kick. Rua throws a hook to the side of Currie's head but Currie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rua throws a looping overhand right but Currie ducks down to avoid it. Currie misses with a low kick.
A head kick misses from Rua. Currie throws a series of punches but Rua moves out of range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Currie tries to keep at a distance but Rua has taken the fight into the clinch. Currie tries a body shot but Rua blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Curries head. Currie lands a body punch. Currie lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short uppercut from Rua. Currie stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Currie tries to throw a body punch but Rua avoids it by throwing Currie back against the cage. Currie tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Rua's elbow. Rua throws a head punch that misses. Currie lands a damaging elbow. Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Currie fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rua looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Rua misses with a lunging right hand
and Currie counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rua's guard now. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Currie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rua keeping moving, preventing Currie from controlling successfully. Currie is looking to work some ground and pound but Rua has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Currie trying to control the position from guard on top but Rua is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Currie is really struggling to control Rua but he's trying to hold on to the position. Rua is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Currie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Currie wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving. Currie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Currie trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of David Currie. Rua lands with a nice body kick. Rua fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Rua lands with a kick to the temple. Currie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Rua waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Currie. Rua throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A big right from Currie misses. Currie moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Currie throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rua. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Currie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rua is trying to defend but Currie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rua avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Currie. Currie is looking to advance position but Rua won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua wants to get back to his feet. Rua keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rua won't allow Currie to pass to mount. Currie is trying to control the action in half guard but Rua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Currie is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Currie drops an elbow to the side of Rua's head. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Currie misses with a head shot. Rua uses the momentum to regain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Currie dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rua tries to close the distance and clinch but Currie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Currie manages to avoid it. Rua ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Currie moves away. Currie fails with a takedown attempt. Currie loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch. Both fighters circling a little - Currie finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Currie throws a right and a left that both miss. Rua needs to keep his hands up - Currie had a free shot at his head there. Rua doesn't manage to clinch there - Currie circles away.

Currie tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rua was well out of range. Poor timing from Currie.
That's one minute gone in the round. Currie feints a jab promting Rua to slip. Currie then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Rua slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Nice body kick from Currie. Currie takes a swing at Rua's ribcage but misses. Rua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Currie lands with a cross. Pedro Rua seems to be getting the better of the standup. Currie throws a head kick that misses. Rua is looking to chop away at Currie's legs. Currie ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rua throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Currie counters with a one-two to the body. Currie looks to throw a body kick and Currie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Currie takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Currie moves away from the strike by Rua. Currie takes a swing at Rua's ribcage but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rua pushes Currie up against the cage in a clinch. Currie swings wildly with an uppercut but Rua uses good head movement to avoid it. Rua lands a right hand. Rua scores with a shot to the side of Currie's head. Currie struggles to land a body shot inside as Rua controls his hands.
Currie tries to circle away but Rua has him pinned against the cage. Currie tries a body shot but Rua blocks it.
Rua gets through Currie's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Currie goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Currie working some nice short punches in the clinch. Rua taking a breather. Currie tries to work over Rua's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Currie struggles to land a body shot inside as Rua controls his hands.

Rua lands a hook that snaps the head of Currie backwards. A short right from Rua on the inside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Currie tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rua blocks a body shot from Currie. Currie's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Rua blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Rua misses with a hook from the clinch. Currie lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rua backwards. Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Currie slips under a jab from Rua. Rua tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Currie throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Rua throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Currie sees it coming and avoids it easily. Rua loads up on a big right hand but Currie slips the punch. Rua thows a body kick. Currie tries to catch it but that hurt him. A left lands for Rua. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A bone on bone clash there as Currie blocks the leg kick.
Currie has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rua finds it's way round the side to connect with Currie's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Pedro Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rua is looking to land body kicks. Rua throws the left hand but Currie avoids the punch easily. Currie avoids the head kick by Rua.
Rua thows a body shot but no joy. Rua lands a right hook to the body.
Currie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Currie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rua throws out a loose jab but Currie uses good head movement to avoid it. Rua misses with a looping left. Currie loads up on a big right hand but Rua slips the punch. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rua circles away from the clinch attempt.

Pedro Rua showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Rua takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Rua misses with a body shot.
Currie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rua sprawls well initially but Currie persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Currie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Rua manages to escape and get back to his feet! Currie chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Rua throws a head kick that Currie semi-blocks.
Currie takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Rua sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Both fighters circling a little - Currie finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rua throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Currie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rua. Nice body punch from Rua.

Rua moves away from the strike by Currie. Rua throws an overhand right that lands on Currie's shoulder, as Currie tries to avoid the shot. Rua connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Currie's hands. Currie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A left lands for Rua. Currie's corner calls for a 1-2. Currie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Rua lands with a kick to the temple. Currie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Currie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away. Rua staying out of range there. Currie missing with a left hand there. Rua was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Currie walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Currie scores with an uppercut up the middle. Currie is trying to pull guard but Rua turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Rua looking to stall.
Rua wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Currie blocks it with crossed arms. Currie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Currie blocks a low kick nicely. Rua throws a head kick but Currie moves out of range.
Rua throws out a powerful jab. Currie with a hook. Rua throws a jab but it's blocked by Currie. Currie takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Currie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rua! David Currie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Currie landing punches. Rua is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Currie looking to ground and pound but Rua is blocking nicely. Currie raining down hammerfists from mount. Currie tries to control but Rua wriggling away. Rua is in a horrible position here. Currie smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Currie controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rua is desperately trying to improve his position but Currie has a good base and remains in mount. Rua regains half guard. Currie seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rua does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Currie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rua is trying to stand.
Currie is nestled in close to Rua, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Pedro Rua. I think Rua has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
