The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from San as Diaby shoots in.
San misses with a low kick.
San pushes Diaby up against the cage in a clinch.
Diaby takes an elbow to the temple.
San lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Diaby throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Diaby has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed San clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Diaby has the hooks in. San is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
San is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Diaby.

San displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Diaby throws out the jab.
The crowd cheers as San lands an impressive looking overhand right. Diaby doesn't seem phased though.

and San takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Diaby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
San misses with a leg kick.
San uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaby.
Diaby takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
San closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
San misses with some punches.
San lands with a short punch from the clinch.
San tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Diaby pulls guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaby not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
San won't allow Diaby to sweep him here.
San wants to stand but Diaby has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Diaby has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. San is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Diaby.
Diaby manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
San tries to roll over but Diaby keeps him under control.

Diaby is taking a breather. San says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaby uses his free foot to push down on San's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for San.

Diaby lands a big shot there that rocks San but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That was a close second round but I would say that Oji San will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

San moves in looking to clinch but Diaby pushes him off.
A bone on bone clash there as Diaby blocks the leg kick.
Diaby shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Diaby was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

San tries to lock up and control but Diaby gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Poor strikes thrown by Diaby there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
