Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 27 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Skins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Johny Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a right hand that Skins ducks under and follows up with a left that Skins also avoids with ease.
Skins will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Skins wants to clinch up but Hughes keeps it at a distance.
Skins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hughes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Skins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Skins closes the distance and pushes Hughes back into the cage.
Skins ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Skins no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Skins will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hughes throws a big elbow that misses.
Skins looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Skins wriggles free and stands up.
Skins scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Johny Hughes has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hughes misses with a double jab
and Skins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hughes won't be happy with that.
Hughes is rocked!
Skins is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hughes has escaped the position, nice work there.
Skins is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hughes looks calm but he's in trouble here. Skins gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hughes is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Skins lets go of the hold and Hughes can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tony Skins!
