Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuuji Hanamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanamoto is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Am I Evil?. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanamoto tries to clinch
and Lawler makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Shuuji Hanamoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hanamoto is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lawler sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Lawler pushes Hanamoto off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lawler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hanamoto has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hanamoto shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lawler as he jumps to the side.

The fighters circle momentarily. Lawler darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hanamoto looks to land a left hand but Lawler moved out of range nicely.

Lawler stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lawler wants it to stay on the feet.
Hanamoto dives in and grabs Lawler's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lawler pushes down on Hanamoto's head and hops out.
