Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie comes into the arena with cult of personality blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matt Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Connor Young! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gracie is stalling here. Young is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gracie seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Young has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Young tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Young fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Young scores with punches from side control. The strikes coming from Young are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gracie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Young working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Young looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. An elbow from Young crashes against the mat.
Young swings around for an armbar but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Young's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Young keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Young is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gracie is aware though and is defending well. Gracie controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Young had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily. Young keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Young avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Gracie preventing the sweep. Young really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Young keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Matt Gracie just wasn't active enough. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Young as he jumps to the side. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gracie working the head and body with strikes. Young moves into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie trying to control but Young is working from the bottom. Gracie postures up and lands a big shot to Young's brow. Gracie gets to his feet - Young follows without any prompting. This has been an exciting period of action! Jab from Gracie. Young misses with a jab to the body
and Gracie counters with a three punch combo that has Young backing up. Young nods at Gracie to acknowledge the strikes. Young misses with the combination.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Young pinned against the ropes. Young gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Young misses with a double jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Gracie dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Young tries to bum rush Gracie with a series of wild strikes but Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet. Young keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sloppy strikes from Young. Those never looked like landing. Young closes the distance and clinches. Young tries to circle away but Gracie has him pinned against the ropes. Gracie breaks from the clinch.
A head kick lands from Young that sends Gracie to the canvas. Gracie tries to scramble back to his feet but Young brings him back down into side control.
Gracie is rocked!
It looks like Matt Gracie has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Young in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Gracie looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Young turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
