PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Spede Jussi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Nykanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jussi has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Spede Jussi looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nykanen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nykanen showed some decent athleticism there.
Jussi is breathing heavily.
Nykanen wants to control but Jussi is keeping him busy.

Nykanen perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nykanen connects with a nice short shot to Jussi's temple.

Nykanen lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Nykanen slips a nice elbow through Jussi's hands, connecting with Jussi's forehead.
Nykanen looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jussi is in trouble now - Nykanen has advanced to mount!

Nykanen cracks Jussi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nykanen cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jussi takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Nykanen's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
