Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Eighteen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauricio Rua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dave Eighteen! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Eighteen thows a body shot but no joy. Eighteen misses with a wild body shot. Rua doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Rua checks a leg kick nicely. Rua on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Eighteen. Eighteen obviously looking to wear him down.
Eighteen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rua was well out of range. Poor timing from Eighteen. Rua sizes up Eighteen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Rua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Eighteen. Decent striking displayed by Rua there. Eighteen avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Rua misses with a two punch combination.
Eighteen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rua moves away. Eighteen tries to clinch up but Rua circles away and keeps his distance. Rua looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Eighteen! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rua content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Eighteen is looking to escape. Rua thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Rua trying to control but Eighteen is having none of it. Eighteen is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Rua throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rua misses with a head shot. Rua connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Rua takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rua is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Eighteen can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Rua wants to control the pace but Eighteen is squirming around nicely. Eighteen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Poor strikes thrown by Rua there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Rua throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Eighteen because Rua loaded up on that one. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Eighteen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Eighteen! Eighteen stops Rua from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rua throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rua gets a clinch. Eighteen scores with a shot to the side of Rua's head. Rua misses with a knee strike.

Eighteen is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Rua has denied him. Eighteen misses with a hook to the ribs.
Eighteen working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Eighteen lands on the inside with an uppercut. Rua prevents a body shot from Eighteen. Rua lands a nice knee to the body. Eighteen tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Rua lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Eighteen or not. Eighteen is working Rua over against the cage. Rua lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Both fighters working to control the clinch. Rua lands a damaging elbow. Rua looking for a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rua manages to break the clinch.
Rua throws a push kick but Eighteen slaps the foot to one side. Rua throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Rua takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Eighteen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rua looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A swing and a miss from Eighteen. Rua shoots in and bounces Eighteen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rua trying to control the position from guard on top but Eighteen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rua content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eighteen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rua looking to sit in guard and control but Eighteen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rua is pulling down on Eighteen's head. It's preventing any offense from Eighteen, at least for the moment. Eighteen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Eighteen stopping the sweep attempt from Rua.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rua is on top in guard.
Rua advances to half guard. Rua throwing shots but Eighteen is blocking nicely. Eighteen is looking to improve his position.
Rua seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Eighteen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eighteen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rua. Rua lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rua trying to control from half guard but Eighteen is working away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua wants to pass the guard but Eighteen is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mauricio Rua dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Rua lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Eighteen backwards. Eighteen tries to throw a body punch but Rua avoids it by throwing Eighteen back against the cage. Eighteen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rua counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Eighteen lands with a light punch inside. Eighteen lands with a short shot to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Eighteen wants to stall.
Still in the clinch, Rua scores with a nice short uppercut. Rua tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Eighteen's elbow. Rua misses with a hook from the clinch. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Eighteen as Rua tries to tie him up. Eighteen tries to throw a body punch but Rua avoids it by throwing Eighteen back against the cage. Eighteen trying to control the position but instead, Rua has worked for underhooks and has pushed Eighteen into the cage. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Dave Eighteen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eighteen throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Eighteen misses with a body punch.
Eighteen blocks a body shot from Rua. Rua is looking to break free of the clinch but Eighteen has double underhooks. Eighteen throws a head punch that misses. Rua is trying to trip Eighteen. He has hold of a leg but Eighteen is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rua persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Eighteen trying to control the position.
Mauricio Rua is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rua engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Rua tries to free his leg and advance position but Eighteen is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rua not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mauricio Rua just wasn't active enough. Eighteen avoids the body shot from Rua.
Eighteen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rua pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Eighteen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rua. A punch combination from Rua misses. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rua takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Eighteen throws a lazy right hand but Rua sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A nice leg kick lands there from Rua. Eighteen throws a jab but it's blocked by Rua.
And that's the end of the fight! Mauricio Rua showed his dominance in that final round. Well Rua has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
