PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roronoa Zorro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anneli Auer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zorro has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Anneli Auer told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorro fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zorro tries to move into range but Auer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Roronoa Zorro has been cut.

Auer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Auer lands a shoulder strike.
Auer lands a left hand.
Zorro is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Auer is keeping busy.
Auer has Zorro pressed against the cage.

Zorro gets control of Auer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Zorro will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Auer wants to control from the top but Zorro keeps moving.

Auer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Zorro is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Auer, into his guard.

Auer wants to get back to his feet but Zorro is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Auer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zorro defends it easily.
Zorro tries to stand but Auer is controlling from the bottom.
Zorro is breathing heavily.
Auer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Auer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Zorro has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Auer is proving hard to escape from.
Auer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zorro is one step ahead there.

Auer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zorro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Auer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Auer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Zorro wants to get up but he can't break Auer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Zorro tries to clinch but Auer moves away
and Auer counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Auer fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Auer clinches up against the cage.
Auer pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Auer lands a left hand that snaps the head of Zorro backwards.

Zorro is rocked!
Auer lands with a light punch inside.
Oh Zorro is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Auer lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Zorro backwards.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Auer pushes Zorro back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Auer unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Zorro! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Auer is unloading with more strikes now! Zorro drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
