Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Tucker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sterling Archer! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Tucker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tucker gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Tucker lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Sterling Archer has been cut. Tucker lands a hook to the side of the head. Tucker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Archer paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Tucker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Archer to score an easy takedown into full guard. Tucker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Archer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Archer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Archer drops back looking for a leg! Tucker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tucker manages to kick Archer off! Archer jumps back into Tucker's guard. Archer trying to control the position from guard on top but Tucker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tucker is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Archer is controlling him. Archer postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Archer forces his way into half guard. Tucker wants to improve his position but Archer is controlling well.
Archer is trying to control the action in half guard but Tucker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Tucker is in trouble now - Archer has advanced to mount! Archer looking to isolate an arm here. Tucker doesn't see it coming and as Archer extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Archer!
