Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sync Fowler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fabio D Elia! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fowler shoots in and gets a takedown into D Elia's guard. Fowler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D Elia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fowler looking to sit in guard and control but D Elia gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. D Elia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fowler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Fowler looking to control.
Fowler is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. D Elia manages to break the clinch.
Fowler looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Fowler trying to control the position from guard on top but D Elia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fowler is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because D Elia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Fowler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fowler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fowler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. D Elia swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. D Elia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fowler's guard. Fowler is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! D Elia rolls with it to try and escape but Fowler cranks on the arm and D Elia is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sync Fowler! During a confident post fight interview, Sync Fowler thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
