Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferguson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ferguson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shark circles away. A momentary lapse in concentration from Shark enables Ferguson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shark manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Shark keeping full guard, as Ferguson tries to pass. Ferguson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shark on the ground. Ferguson postures up.
Shark managing to control the position. Ferguson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shark, up you get! Ferguson wants to clinch and Shark counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Ferguson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Ferguson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shark will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ferguson is squirming around, avoiding Shark's attempts to control the action. Ferguson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ferguson tries to get out of the position. Ferguson wants to hold on but Shark pushes him away.

Shark wants to control from the top but Ferguson keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ferguson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Shark is now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ferguson kicks Shark off and gets back to his feet. Ferguson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Shark is trying to drag Ferguson to the mat but Ferguson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Shark working hard to break the clinch. Ferguson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Ferguson manages to end up in side control. Shark tries to bench press Ferguson off him but Ferguson keeps the position. Shark wants to control but Ferguson postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shark is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ferguson controls the position. Shark is looking for a sweep. A bit of a lull in the action here. Ferguson wants to control but Shark is keeping him busy. Shark can't do much from the bottom here. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Shark. Ferguson takes the fight into the clinch. Ferguson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Shark is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Shark takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ferguson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shark swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ferguson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Shark is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Ferguson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shark makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Ferguson scores a takedown into full mount! Ferguson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That has opened up Damian Shark's cut even more. Ferguson looking to secure an arm triangle but Shark defends it well. Ferguson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Ferguson with shots to the head and body - Shark looks very uncomfortable down there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ferguson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
