Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Toshi Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bernard Chapin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chapin has chosen Eminence Front-The Who as his entrance music. Bernard Chapin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Toshi Gomi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bernard Chapin! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chapin tries to clinch up. Gomi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Gomi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chapin wants to clinch up but Gomi keeps it at a distance. Chapin cracks Gomi with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chapin misses with a takedown and Gomi counters by moving into the clinch. Chapin letting Gomi take a breather here. Gomi tightens his grip and picks Chapin up, before dumping him to the ground. Chapin manages to land in guard. Gomi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chapin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chapin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gomi looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gomi wants to control from the top but Chapin keeps moving. Gomi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chapin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chapin trying to control the position.
Gomi throwing strikes from guard but Chapin blocks nicely. Gomi landing with the ground and pound. Chapin has his foot on Gomi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gomi works his way back into a safe position though. Chapin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chapin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Chapin wants to stand but Gomi is controlling the position. Gomi looking to pass the guard. Gomi sitting in guard here, content to control. Gomi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Toshi Gomi just wasn't active enough. Chapin tries to clinch but Gomi moves out of range. Chapin tries to clinch there but Gomi circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Chapin as Gomi shoots in. Gomi instigates a clinch. Chapin letting Gomi take a breather here. Chapin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gomi pulls him back up using the underhooks. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Chapin working aggressively here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gomi avoiding damage.
Chapin misses with a punch on the inside.
Chapin wants to take the fight to the mat but Gomi manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Toshi Gomi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernard Chapin. Gomi displaying some good clinch control by pressing Chapin up against the cage. Gomi gets underhooks to prevent Chapin's takedown attempt.
Gomi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Chapin wants to stand up but Gomi is controlling him. Gomi controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gomi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chapin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gomi has managed to get both his arms back between Chapin's legs - danger averted. Chapin looks gassed! Gomi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chapin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gomi regains full guard. Nicely done. Gomi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chapin manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gomi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gomi passes easily into side control. Nice work. Gomi content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chapin struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Toshi Gomi dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gomi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chapin moves in looking to clinch but Gomi pushes him off. Gomi takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Chapin tries to clinch up. Chapin fails with the takedown and Gomi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chapin's guard. Chapin wants to sweep here but Gomi controlling him for the moment. Gomi passes into half guard. Gomi stalling. Gomi looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gomi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chapin's head. Gomi works his way into full mount! Gomi controlling from the full mount. Gomi working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gomi thowing shots but they're missing. Gomi looking to ground and pound but Chapin is blocking nicely. Gomi quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Gomi but it's paid off an Chapin is forced to tap! Nice work by Gomi.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Toshi Gomi!
