Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

22 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kingo Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kongo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Staal.
A head kick misses from Staal.
Kingo Kongo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kongo walks into a straight right hand from Staal.
That kick from Kongo tenderised Staal's leg. Staal is trying to keep his angry face on.
Staal checks a low kick from Kongo.
Kongo tries to clinch but Staal moves out of range.
Kongo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Staal looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kongo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Staal throws a body kick that misses
and Kongo counters with a thumping low kick.
Staal gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kongo is looking to regain half guard here but Staal keeps moving and retains side control.
Kongo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Kongo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Staal is looking to control Kongo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Staal avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Kongo seems content to control.
Staal is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Kongo jumps into side control!
Staal is looking for a sweep.
What's Staal going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Staal tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kongo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Staal wants to control but Kongo postures up.
Kongo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Staal keeps working.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kongo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kongo thuds a left hand into Staal's body.
Staal displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kongo throws out the jab.
Kongo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Staal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kongo lands with a hook. Staal tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Staal dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A low kick from Kongo is predictable there
and Staal counters with a good, hard body kick but Kongo shrugs it off.
Kongo throws a body punch but Staal moves out of range.
Kongo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like Kingo Kongo has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kongo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A swing and a miss from Kongo.
Kongo tries to clinch up.
Staal lands a big head kick that sends Kongo tumbling to the mat! Staal takes a step backwards and waves Kongo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Staal looks for the body kick but Kongo saw that one coming.
Kongo fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kongo tries to clinch there but Staal circles away.
A solid body kick from Staal.
Kongo avoids the head kick by Staal.
Kongo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kongo misses with an uppercut. Staal saw that one coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kongo on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Staal. Staal obviously looking to wear him down.
Staal throws the kick towards the body but Kongo avoids it.
Kongo fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Staal is out of range.
Staal circles away from the clinch attempt.
Staal misses with a series of wild punches.
Kongo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Staal has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kongo misses with the combination.
Kongo wants to clinch up but Staal keeps it at a distance.
Staal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kongo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Kongo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That has opened up Kingo Kongo's cut even more.
Staal lands with a nice body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Staal dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kingo Kongo's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Staal throws a chopping leg kick but Kongo manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Staal wants to land a leg kick but Kongo is out of range.
Staal does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Staal with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kongo to score with a decent uppercut.
Staal works the jab nicely.
Kongo is rocked!
Staal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Kongo is still on wobbly legs! Can Staal finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Staal sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Kongo's defenses. It connects perfectly with Kongo's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Staal!
John Staal retains his heavyweight title!
