Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gh Be Bomb So What! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gregry Tivolvich! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! So What fails in his attempt to clinch. Tivolvich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Tivolvich trying to control from half guard but So What is working away. Tivolvich thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tivolvich is trying to control the action in half guard but So What is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. So What tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Tivolvich decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Tivolvich closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into So What's guard. Tivolvich has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. So What is breathing heavily. Tivolvich drops back looking for a leg! So What is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and So What manages to kick Tivolvich off! Tivolvich jumps back into So What's guard. Tivolvich gets to his feet. So What looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. So What with a lazy takedown attempt and Tivolvich counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Tivolvich stands up from half guard. So What misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tivolvich scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Tivolvich has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tivolvich shoots in and bounces So What off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Tivolvich thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tivolvich is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Tivolvich wants to control from the top but So What keeps moving. Tivolvich throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as So What works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tivolvich wants to pass the guard but So What is keeping the position. Tivolvich decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on So What, up you get! Tivolvich has managed to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tivolvich is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. So What is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tivolvich to keep the fight standing. Tivolvich is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. So What can't fight it off and eventually Tivolvich manages to take the fight to the floor. So What looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Tivolvich decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on So What, up you get! Gh Be Bomb So What seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tivolvich bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Tivolvich lands a decent elbow from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tivolvich works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Tivolvich cracks So What with a big elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tivolvich tries for a kimura but So What is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tivolvich stands up. So What misses with a takedown attempt - Tivolvich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gh Be Bomb So What. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tivolvich is trying hard to land a takedown here. So What sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A head kick misses from Tivolvich. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gregry Tivolvich dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
So What shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tivolvich defends it nicely. So What tries to sprawl but Tivolvich drives through with a takedown into half guard. Tivolvich is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
So What on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. So What tries to kick Tivolvich off but Tivolvich keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Tivolvich is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Tivolvich tries to pass the half guard into mount. So What knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tivolvich is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! So What is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
