PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phil McOlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kit Telmex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Telmex is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Static X - Push it. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McOlin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McOlin throws out a loose jab but Telmex uses good head movement to avoid it.
McOlin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
McOlin just misses with a punch to the body.
McOlin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Telmex sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McOlin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McOlin misses with a jab, cross combination.
McOlin throws a lazy right hand but Telmex sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice cross by McOlin.
McOlin lands a body shot.
Telmex takes a body punch but keeps moving.
McOlin misses with an uppercut.
No joy there for McOlin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Phil McOlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Telmex drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Telmex tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Telmex has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Telmex wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McOlin, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Telmex thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Telmex decides to stand up, so the ref orders McOlin to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Telmex or perhaps it was just good defense by McOlin which made him look bad.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Telmex shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Telmex showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Telmex seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McOlin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McOlin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McOlin.
McOlin's corner calls for a 1-2. McOlin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Telmex uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McOlin.
Telmex shoots in and drives through. McOlin sprawls well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Telmex trying to control the action but McOlin is working from the bottom.

A close second round but Kit Telmex will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

McOlin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Telmex moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McOlin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Telmex moves away.

Telmex tries to free his leg and advance position but McOlin is retaining full guard.

Telmex drops back looking for a leg! McOlin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McOlin manages to kick Telmex off! Telmex jumps back into McOlin's guard.
McOlin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Telmex on the ground.
Telmex won't allow McOlin to get back to his feet.

Telmex pushes down on McOlin's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Telmex is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Telmex frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Telmex throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Telmex has hold of McOlin's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McOlin manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Telmex is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
McOlin throws a hook but Telmex avoids it easily.
A choreographed right hand from McOlin misses the target.
McOlin throws a shot from downtown. Telmex moves away and avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Phil McOlin showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McOlin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
