Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reed Richards! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Thomas Brow! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Richards shoots in for a double leg but Thomas Brow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Richards closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Thomas Brow to the mat! Thomas Brow manages to get full guard. Richards is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Richards postures up.
Richards trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas Brow is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Richards drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Richards jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Richards is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thomas Brow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Richards. Richards looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Richards is looking for a kimura but Thomas Brow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Richards to get the leverage. Thomas Brow wants to stand back up but Richards manages to pass into side control.

Possibly, maybe, no Richards has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Richards wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thomas Brow, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Richards swings around for an armbar but Thomas Brow sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Richards's guard. Richards has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomas Brow can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Thomas Brow must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Richards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas Brow doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas Brow manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Richards is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Thomas Brow is aware though and is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Richards looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thomas Brow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Reed Richards dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Thomas Brow is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Thomas Brow stuffs the takedown attempt from Richards. Richards gets slowly back to his feet. Thomas Brow fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas Brow wants to clinch but Richards slips to the side and Richards counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Thomas Brow is looking to control Richards's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thomas Brow avoid being mounted? Richards is working for a submission of some sort.
