PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johe Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Miles might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Young Blood by Audio Machine. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles digs a good body shot into Black's ribs.
Miles scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nice defenses there by Black.
Black walks into a jab.

It looks like Johe Black has been cut.
Miles digs a good hook to Black's body.
Black looks to land a left hand but Miles moved out of range nicely.

Black has taken the fight to the clinch.
Miles misses with a punch to the body.
Miles wants to break free but Black has control.
Miles is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Black is keeping busy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Miles doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Miles tries a body shot but Black blocks it.
Black lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Black tries to pull guard but Miles holds him up against the cage and eventually Black drops back down to his feet.
Miles is trying to maintain a safe position but Black gets an underhook and turns Miles into the cage.

Black pulls guard.
Black pulls Miles in close to his closed guard and prevents Miles from doing any damage or advancing position.

Miles wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.
Miles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miles would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miles slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Miles looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Black is avoiding damage well.

Miles creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Black sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Black holds on to Miles's head and controls the position momentarily.

Miles stands up and beckons Black to his feet.
Miles thows a body shot but no joy.
Miles throws a shot from downtown. Black moves away and avoids it.
Miles misses with a hook.
Miles swats away the attempt to clinch by Black.
Black is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Nice uppercut lands for Miles. That snapped Black's head back.
Miles fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Black on the side of the head.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miles as he jumps to the side.
A punch combination from Miles misses.
Miles displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Black slips a jab from Miles.

Miles lands a big shot that drops Black! Can he finish him?

Black is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Miles pushing down on Black's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Black is still in real trouble! Can Miles finish him?
Black looks gassed!
Black wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Black is trying to maintain the position but Miles is very close to passing his half guard.
Well, if Miles is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Miles tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Miles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Black is refusing to be controlled, as Miles sits in half guard.
Black seems to have recovered his senses.

Miles is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Black blocking the ground and pound attempt from Miles.
Miles is trying to control. Black wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Black pushes Miles off but Miles dives into side control.
Miles trying to control the action but Black is working from the bottom.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Johe Black's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Miles has cracked Black with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Miles lands another huge swinging hook and Black tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Black, before Miles can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Desmond Miles!
