Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan D! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Dumpleton! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from D is defended easily by Dumpleton. Dumpleton closes this distance looking for a takedown but D circles away. D shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dumpleton sprawls well. Dumpleton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. D gets slowly back to his feet. Sloppy strikes from D. Those never looked like landing. D rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dumpleton moves out of range and avoids them all easily. D throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dumpleton was covering up waiting for the punch and D finishes the takedown easily into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dumpleton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. D defends it easily.

Dumpleton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. D looking to pass the guard. Dumpleton trying to keep a closed guard but D is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. D has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dumpleton is working an open guard so D takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A slapping leg kick lands for D.
Dumpleton tries to score with a low kick but D moves his leg out of the way. Dumpleton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in D's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dumpleton showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Dumpleton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! D is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! D has escaped and now he's on top! Dumpleton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

D works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Dumpleton is looking for a sweep. Dumpleton sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. D wants to pass the guard but Dumpleton is defending well. Dumpleton trying to hold on to D's head to control him but D postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dumpleton gets full guard. D will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dumpleton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dumpleton can't keep his opponent in guard - D advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Dumpleton is trying to control but can't.
This has been an exciting period of action! D working over Dumpleton with some ground and pound. Dumpleton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. D with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dumpleton is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

D shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dumpleton but Dumpleton pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dumpleton looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. D fails with a takedown attempt from distance. D misses with a takedown attempt - Dumpleton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Evan D. That's going to take a lot out of him. D fails with a takedown attempt. Dumpleton with a poor takedown and D counters with a takedown into side control. Dumpleton sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Dumpleton is staying active underneath D, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dumpleton is trying to maintain the position but D is very close to passing his half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. D is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dumpleton actively working from the bottom here. Dumpleton is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but D pulls his head out easily. Dumpleton trying to control but D postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Dumpleton manages to regain full guard. Nice work. D trying to control the position from guard on top but Dumpleton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. D slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Evan D dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
D throws a push kick but Dumpleton slaps the foot to one side. Dumpleton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Some wild striking there from D.
D scores with a takedown into Dumpleton's guard. D got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dumpleton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, D has managed to get both his arms back between Dumpleton's legs - danger averted. D is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Dumpleton has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. D is looking to defend but Dumpleton has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for D! Dumpleton pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, D taps out and this one is all over!
