Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Peak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valko Strange! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peak moves to clinch but Strange breaks away so Strange counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Strange postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Strange avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Peak throws his legs up looking for a submission but Strange uses it to pass to side control.
Strange lands an elbow. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Strange lands some shots froms side control. A lull in the action here as Strange stalls from top position. Strange working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. That's one minute gone in the round. Strange moves into full mount! Strange raining down shots from the mount! Peak bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Peak drops back looking for a leg! Strange is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Strange manages to kick Peak off! Peak jumps back into Strange's guard. Peak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Peak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Peak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Peak drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Strange dives on top into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peak had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Strange defends it easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Strange looking to pass the guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Peak keeping moving, preventing Strange from controlling successfully. Strange lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peak has his foot on Strange's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Strange works his way back into a safe position though. Peak has momentary wrist control but Strange slips an elbow through the middle. Peak keeping full guard, as Strange tries to pass. Peak pushes a forearm under Strange's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Strange is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
