PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Redshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redshaw's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, ACDC - Skies on Fire. Goins is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by 50 Cent- God Gave me style. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 3, fighting out of Sydney, Dexter Redshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Leroy Goins!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redshaw throws a front kick aimed at Goins's knee but Goins avoids it well.
Goins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Redshaw buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Redshaw lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Goins at a distance.
Redshaw cracks the inside of Goins's front leg.
Goins throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Goins throws a right and a left that Redshaw avoids nicely.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Goins wants to get back to his feet but Redshaw is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Redshaw throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Goins works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Redshaw is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Redshaw looks up at the clock and then as Goins takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Redshaw smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

The strikes coming from Redshaw are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That kick from Redshaw tenderised Goins's leg. Goins is trying to keep his angry face on.

Goins is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Redshaw lands an elbow inside that Goins shrugs off.
Goins's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Redshaw is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goins can do to turn this around?

Redshaw looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Goins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Redshaw dodges the punch combination from Goins.
Redshaw fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Goins has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Redshaw tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Redshaw has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
