Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Warren Wilson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Melvin Satan! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Satan. Wilson closes the distance and clinches up with Satan, looking for a takedown. Wilson pushes Satan against the cage but Satan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Wilson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wilson has his takedown stuffed and Satan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warren Wilson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wilson is refusing to be controlled, as Satan sits in half guard. Satan trying to control the pace. Wilson looking for submissions off his back. Wilson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wilson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Wilson manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Satan with a nice head shot there. Satan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Satan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Satan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wilson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Satan wants to stand but Wilson has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Wilson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Satan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Wilson is tightening it up a little... Satan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Satan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Satan taps out! Nice BJJ there by Wilson!
