Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Arcinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shields! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Red Arcinas! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arcinas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Shields counters with a shoot takedown. Arcinas fights it but they end up in guard. Shields wants to control from the top but Arcinas keeps moving. Arcinas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shields can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shields postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Shields avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Shields pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arcinas is keeping the position for now. Shields has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Shields is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shields trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Shields advances position into side control! Arcinas manages to get back to half guard. Arcinas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Shields winds up and cracks Arcinas with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Arcinas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shields pulls his head out easily. Arcinas is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shields scores with a couple of nice shots. Shields throwing shots but Arcinas is blocking nicely. Shields is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Shields is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shields throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Shields is looking to advance position but Arcinas won't allow it. Shields thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Arcinas's head. Arcinas looking for submissions off his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shields trying to control the action but Arcinas is working from the bottom. Shields takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Shields wants to pass the guard but Arcinas is defending well. Shields is looking for a kimura but Arcinas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shields to get the leverage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shields is keen to just control but Arcinas is a slippery customer. Arcinas avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shields. Arcinas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Arcinas. Shields wants to control from the top but Arcinas keeps moving. Shields is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Arcinas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Arcinas looking for a guillotine here but Shields defends easily.
Arcinas has his foot on Shields's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shields works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shields wants to control from the top but Arcinas keeps moving. Shields looking to sit in guard and control but Arcinas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Arcinas is fighting to break Shields's control of his arms but Shields is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Shields has an active guard here but Arcinas has managed to pass into half guard.
Shields wants to control the action here but instead Arcinas manages to pass to full mount! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shields holds on to Arcinas as tight as he can, avoiding damage. Shields holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Arcinas tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jack Shields will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Jack Shields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Shields thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Shields is looking for a kimura but Arcinas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Shields to get the leverage. Arcinas actively working from the bottom here. Arcinas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Shields wants to work for an arm triangle but Arcinas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Arcinas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shields might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shields trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shields throwing strikes from guard but Arcinas blocks nicely. Shields wants to control from the top but Arcinas keeps moving. Shields is really struggling to control Arcinas but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Jack Shields has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Arcinas shoots and misses and Shields decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Arcinas's guard. Arcinas pushes a forearm under Shields's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Shields is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
