Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gay slaps away a takedown attempt from Lopez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Lopez shoots in looking for a takedown. Gay tries to sprawl out of it but Lopez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gay gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lopez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lopez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lopez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Lopez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez chips away with some ground and pound.

Lopez is looking to work some ground and pound but Gay has wrist control.

It looks like Lopez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Lopez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

You get the feeling that Gay really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lopez landing strikes from the mount and Gay is in trouble!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lopez postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Gay in real trouble here! The ref calls for Gay to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
