Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hoft (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Hoft looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Hoft! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Penn! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Hoft looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Penn manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hoft won't allow Penn to sweep him here. Hoft trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hoft is working Penn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Penn wants to sweep but no luck. Penn manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's one minute gone in the round. Hoft is breathing heavily. Penn has control of Hoft's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hoft regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Hoft is trying desperately to improve position. Hoft is working hard here to advance position. Penn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hoft is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hoft is desperately trying to improve his position but Penn has a good base and remains in mount. Hoft knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Penn on the ground. Hoft on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hoft tries to get out of the position. Hoft regains half guard. Penn is thwarting Hoft's attempts to control the position. Hoft is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoft works his way to full guard. Good work. Hoft is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hoft looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Penn showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Hoft wants to sweep but no luck. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoft is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Penn goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Jason Hoft has been cut. Penn throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hoft. Nice takedown defense from Hoft. No joy for Penn on that attempt. Penn fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jason Hoft has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Penn. Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Hoft counter with a right hand. Hoft has his takedown stuffed and Penn counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hoft is lucky that one didn't land flush. Penn has closed the distance and engaged Hoft in a clinch.

Penn blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hoft is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Penn gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hoft wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Penn gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hoft.

Kenny Penn dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jason Hoft's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hoft looks to land a right hand but Penn moved out of range. Hoft has a takedown stuffed. Penn has Hoft up against the ropes in a clinch.
Penn jumps guard and drags Hoft to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hoft pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now. Hoft trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hoft wants to pass the guard but Penn is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hoft drops back, looking for a kneebar! Penn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Penn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Penn! Penn tries to stand but Hoft is controlling his head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoft is looking for a sweep. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Penn advances nicely into full mount. Penn working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Penn prevents Hoft from getting the reversal. Hoft tries to hold on but Penn postures up. Hoft can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Penn has hold of Hoft's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hoft manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hoft is looking to improve his position but Penn isn't that keen on the idea. Penn looking to control but Hoft is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Penn is landing with some decent strikes but Hoft is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Penn wants to stand but Hoft is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoft is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hoft wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Hoft prevents Penn from getting a body triangle. Hoft might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Penn is riding his opponent, not letting Hoft buck him off. Hoft rolls, trying to escape but Penn keeps control of the position.
Penn biding his time, controlling Hoft. You can see the frustration on Hoft's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Hoft tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Hoft tries to free his leg and advance position but Penn is retaining full guard. Hoft passes Penn's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Penn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Penn. Penn is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Penn might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hoft kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jason Hoft's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Penn tries to clinch but Hoft moves out of range. Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoft tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoft to the ground. Hoft escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Penn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hoft! Hoft has given up his back here.
Hoft is keeping busy.
Hoft manages to reverse the position and now he's in Penn's guard. Nice work there by Hoft.
Penn keeping moving, preventing Hoft from controlling successfully. Hoft missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Penn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Penn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hoft wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoft is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hoft throwing strikes from guard but Penn blocks nicely.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hoft tries for a takedown but Penn circles away easily and Penn counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Hoft tries to get to full guard but Penn has control of the leg. Kenny Penn has got the better of the ground game so far. Hoft tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Penn has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Penn controlling the pace for now. A nice elbow there by Penn.

Penn unloads with some shots from mount but Hoft bucks and avoids them well.

Hoft is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Penn jumps into side control! Hoft is trying to get back to half guard. Hoft is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Penn is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Penn looking to control but Hoft is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoft keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hoft regains half guard. Hoft gets full guard. Hoft looking to hit a scissor sweep but Penn is one step ahead there. Hoft is looking to sweep but instead, Penn has passed into half guard.
Hoft wants to get back to full guard. Hoft avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Penn. Hoft is not content to let Penn control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Penn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Penn is thwarting Hoft's attempts to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Penn decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hoft tries to roll over but Penn keeps him under control. Penn is trying for a kimura here. Hoft looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Penn wins by kimura!
