Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mamed Khalidov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Adams! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adams leaves Khalidov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Adams closes the distance but Khalidov moves to the side and Khalidov counters with a shoot takedown. Adams fights it but they end up in guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Khalidov content to stall in guard here. Khalidov pushing down on Adams's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Khalidov is looking for a kimura but Adams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Khalidov to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Adams tries to roll over but Khalidov keeps him under control. Khalidov is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khalidov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Adams defends it well.

Khalidov wants to work for an arm triangle but Adams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Khalidov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adams is just riding it out for now. Khalidov eventually gives up the hold. Khalidov prevents Adams from improving his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Khalidov is working away from the top position though. Khalidov stalling. Khalidov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Khalidov wants to work for an arm triangle but Adams is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adams won't allow Khalidov to pass to mount. Khalidov throws a strike but Adams avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Adams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Adams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Khalidov wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving. Adams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Khalidov keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Adams's head. Adams can't keep his opponent in guard - Khalidov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Khalidov seems to be looking for submissions.
Adams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khalidov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Khalidov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Adams's head. Adams is trying to stand back up but Khalidov is controlling him
Khalidov is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Adams is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
