Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Chambers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Chambers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Mendez! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chambers misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mendez.

Chambers throws a body punch but Mendez moves out of range. Chambers will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Chambers lands a nice shot that snaps Mendez's head back.
Chambers takes a swing at Mendez's ribcage but misses. Mendez misses with an uppercut. Chambers saw that one coming. Chambers thows a body shot but no joy. Chambers tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Chambers connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez throws out a leg kick but Chambers moves out of range and Mendez only half commits. Mendez fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chambers is fending him off so far but Mendez persists. Nope, Chambers circles away and we're back to standing. Chambers darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Chambers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. George Chambers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Mendez. Mendez takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chambers lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Nice sprawl there from Chambers as Mendez shoots in. Chambers lands a nice hook to Mendez's body. Mendez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Chambers lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Chambers cracks Mendez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Chambers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mendez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Chambers is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mendez. Mendez keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Crunch! Chambers slams his shin into Mendez's torso.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Chambers counters with a nice uppercut. Chambers lands a body shot.
Chambers changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Chambers lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mendez at a distance.
Mendez on the wrong end of a nice hook. Chambers tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chambers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A punch combination from Chambers misses. Chambers connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mendez. Mendez circles away out of range and recomposes himself. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mendez. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Chambers.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mendez misses with a takedown attempt and Chambers counters with a one-two to the body. Mendez tries for a takedown but Chambers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chambers works Mendez's body with a nice hook. Mendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chambers is fending him off so far but Mendez persists. Nope, Chambers circles away and we're back to standing. Chambers connects with a body shot. Chambers is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Chambers throws a head kick that misses and Mendez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Chambers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mendez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mendez's back! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Chambers is trying to stick to Mendez's back but Mendez is turning into Chambers. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chambers's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mendez. Mendez with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez is in close to Chambers's body, working some short punches and elbows. Mendez trying to control but Chambers is working from the bottom. Mendez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chambers keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Chambers is trying to control the position but Mendez postures up. Mendez lands a couple of elbows. Mendez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mendez wants to control from the top but Chambers keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mendez content to stall in guard here. Mendez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mendez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Chambers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendez on the ground. Chambers keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Mendez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chambers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mendez with a flurry of punches that miss. Chambers keeping moving, preventing Mendez from controlling successfully. Mendez throws a big right hand that misses. Mendez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mendez throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mendez trying to control but Chambers is working from the bottom. Chambers has momentary wrist control but Mendez slips an elbow through the middle. Chambers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Chambers trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mendez trying to control the position from guard on top but Chambers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mendez throwing strikes but missing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mario Mendez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Chambers takes a swing at Mendez's ribcage but misses. Chambers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chambers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mendez moves away. Mendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chambers. George Chambers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Chambers just misses with a punch to the body.

That's going to take a lot out of Mario Mendez. Mendez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chambers. Chambers throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mendez on the side of the head. George Chambers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chambers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mendez was well out of range. Poor timing from Chambers. Chambers scores with a nice head shot. Chambers lands a left and a right that send Mendez crashing to the mat, dazed. Chambers thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Chambers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mendez is still on wobbly legs! Can Chambers finish him? Chambers's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mendez under the eye. Chambers rushes Mendez with punches - Mendez moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Mendez goes down! Chambers follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Chambers! George Chambers was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
